Ca'Bella in receivership - $30m work on 5 projects stopped

High-rise building specialist Ca'Bella Construction has been placed in receivership at the behest of its bankers, ending the dream of a former Hartner Construction chief.

Work was shut down at five building sites in Auckland yesterday. Security guards were posted at the gates, locking out workers.

Ca'Bella had at least $30 million worth of building on the go, including two 18-level towers in the city - one between Wyndham St and Durham Lane, another at Whitaker Place. It had nearly finished two jobs in West Auckland and one in Manukau.
