Nelson House prices still climbing

Some houses are selling for as much as 50 percent above their rating valuation as prices continue to climb in the Nelson region, the latest QV Valuations statistics show.

Sales data for February showed the median sale price in Nelson city rose $8000 from January to February, to $197,000.

That was 34 percent above the median rating valuation, but the difference was even greater in some parts of the city.

In the Tahunanui-Port Hills area, the median sale price was 52 percent above the median rating valuation and in Nelson East it was 43 percent higher.
