New Zealanders have a well-documented affinity with property investment. No other investment offers the same return with the same degree of security, says investment adviser Nick Duff, managing director of Financial Vision.

Property investment offers the tax benefits of writing off depreciation and expenses, provides both an income and a potential capital gain, and can provide a hedge against inflation.

Investors are "hooking into a growth scenario," says Duff, with increasing population underpinning steady demand.
