Rent Tendering Legality Questioned

Tenants' advocates say the housing boom is causing massive upheaval for families facing rent increases.

Agencies in Nelson and Christchurch have noticed a significant rise in people having to move home.

Tenants' Protection Association coordinator Helen Gatonyi says the rising practice of landlords asking existing tenants to put in a tender for their accommodation is unconscionable.
