Property prices take dip

Marlborough's real estate market has taken a breather as median house prices dropped eight percent last month from August's record high of $209,000.

The dip to $193,000 reflects similar trends nationwide as Real Estate Institute of New Zealand president Graeme Woodley said the country's housing market went "from a boil to a simmer".

National median prices remained unchanged at $215,000 last month as growth in high profile markets such as Auckland and Nelson slowed or reversed.
