Developer claims IRD persecution

A high profile Auckland property developer claims he's being persecuted by Inland Revenue.

Andrew Krukziener has been convicted and fined for failing to file tax returns on time, but he says IRD owed him money and he has questioned the need for a prosecution.

Krukziener admitted two charges of failing to lodge tax returns on time, but applied to be discharged without conviction because the level of personal culpability did not justify the serious and permanent harm to his reputation.
