Shore studies effect of infill housing

The North Shore City Council is researching the impact infill development is having on the character of established areas of the city.

The research is being done as the North Shore City blueprint recognised that areas with a distinctive "strong and harmonious" character were having that character eroded by infill development.

A report written by council senior environmental policy adviser Tony Reidy says community boards and local community groups have already been consulted about the project. They have highlighted issues and trends associated with infill housing in their areas.
