Buy house, don't rent, young told

Young people should be investing in property rather than paying rent, Hanover Group chief executive Kerry Finnigan said in Invercargill yesterday.

It made sense for a young person to put what funds they had into an asset rather than paying someone else to live in their property.

Funds investments usually came later in life, Mr Finnigan said.
