Million ready to brave the housing bubble (Australia)

Nearly a million Australians say they will defy talk of a dangerous housing bubble and plunge into a residential property investment in the next year.

The housing boom - already worrying economists and the Reserve Bank - is expected to be further fuelled by this explosion - largely by "streetwise" baby boomers.

A Nielsen survey, commissioned by the non-bank lender Wizard Home Loans, found more than 860,000 people intended to invest in property, nearly three times the 246,000 who had such plans in 2000.
