South Taranaki revaluations cause concern for councillors

A revaluation that has seen the capital value of South Taranaki properties increase by 34% in the past three years, and could lead to rate increases of more than 40% on some properties, was scrutinised by South Taranaki District councillors yesterday.

The recently completed valuation by Quotable Value NZ Ltd (QV) has seen the capital value of the district increase from $3.4 billion to $4.6 billion, with significant increases in some rural areas.
