Groups fighting intensive housing

Community action groups across the city are joining forces in the battle against intensive housing growth.

A people's forum met for the first time last week to address regional planning issues. Representatives from six key groups in Panmure, Grey Lynn, Mt Albert, Westmere, Waiheke Island and Remuera gathered to discuss the forum.

The initiative stems from lobby group Positively Grey Lynn, which made headway this year in halting resource consent for a multi-storey housing development.
