Clayburn Developments Ltd, of Glen Eden, was prosecuted by the Auckland Regional Council after repeated attempts to get the developer to install controls to minimise sediment discharging into a stream.
The fine was originally $30,000 but reduced by Judge Fred McElrea in Auckland District Court, to take the company's guilty plea into account.
