A $6.63million government subsidy to the Kaipara District Council for a Mangawhai sewerage scheme could ease the financial burden on ratepayers and residents.

The project, costing $20 million, will introduce a sewerage system to Mangawhai to protect both public health and the Mangawhai environment
according to Kaipara Mayor Graeme Ramsey.
