According to this year's Waikato District Council valuations, buyers could pay 59 per cent more on average for residential properties in Raglan than they did three years ago.

For the area north of the Raglan bridge surrounding the town centre they can expect to pay, on average, 70 per cent more.

Part of the increase can be attributed to a 90 per cent average rise in land value for the town –- reflecting a growing shortage of room to expand.
