Old concrete shadow block walls could be disasters waiting to happen, building authorities say.

Building inspectors from all three Taranaki councils yesterday advised owners of the ornamental concrete fences, most of which were built more than 20 years ago, to have them checked if they were concerned about their structural strength.
A low wall, built of the once popular concrete product, fell on two New Plymouth children who were climbing on it on Saturday.
