Taupo property market on the way up

Taupo's property market is bouncing back after two years of slow sales.

Some lakefront homes were attracting seven-figure sums, while demand for properties was outstripping supply.
Real Estate Institute statistics for September showed 79 homes and two sections in Taupo sold during the month, compared with 38 home sales and nine section sales at the same time last year.
Real estate agents reported strong demand in the $100,000 to $300,000 bracket, but sales were steady across all price ranges.
