More than 100 properties in Rotorua lake areas affected by toxins are on the market, says an activist lake action organisation.

Richard Wilson, the secretary of the West Rotoiti Action Group at Okere Falls properties for sale were widespread around the lake.
Mr Wilson agreed, however, properties had always been up for sale through natural attrition rates and more significantly based on speculative gains to be made of sales in such desirable areas.
But toxin levels in the lake were, in a sense, a side issue, which nevertheless added to the intellectual debate over the erosion of health in the lakes.
"Toxins in the lake make properties hard to sell," Mr Wilson said. He knew of one property on which an agreement was placed which collapsed following a report from Environment Bay of Plenty.
