Tenant accused of subletting state house for $400 a night

Allegations that a Housing New Zealand house in Wanaka was let out during the winter for $400 a night while the tenants slept in a camping ground are being investigated by Housing NZ.

A corporation spokeswoman said the corporation had no reason to believe the claim but had received a report and would investigate it.

The standard Housing NZ tenancy agreement says the tenant shall not transfer or sublet the tenancy.
