Consent has been granted for two new cleanfill sites totalling 85,000 square metres, to be set up next to two existing sites covering 11,000 square metres.

Residents spokesman Andrew Justice says residents are looking at taking the matter to the Environment Court. The 15-day appeal period against the consent for the new sites ends on December 17.

Mr Justice says he's concerned by the high volume of heavy truck traffic, the noise, fumes and dust created and the dangers the trucks pose on a narrow and uneven road.

"There have been numerous near misses with trucks not giving way, failing to drive courteously in relation to pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders using the road," he says.
