Highgate Country Estate, just south of Young Nicks Head, was likely to sell for several million dollars, said Harveys Gisborne agent David Egan.

The property includes a 65-hectare farm, a fully restored 700-square-metre home built in the 1920s and a self-contained two-bedroom unit that could be used for bed and breakfast accommodation or as a guesthouse.

It also contains a bull beef production unit, avocado orchard, citrus orchard and nursery, and alpaca stud farm.

As well as a private beach, the property has 3km of river boundary.

Highgate has been owned by New Zealanders for about 20 years.
