Mahia's development is continuing with the granting of approval for two subdivisions in the seaside settlement.

Wairoa District Council yesterday granted resource consents for the developments on the fringes of the township. Approval had been recommended by consultants.
Although neither development is large, they are yet another sign of the rapid development of the popular holiday area in northern Hawke's Bay.
Pohutukawa Developments got approval to subdivide land in Lochiel St, at Mahia's beach, into four lots ranging from 2082 square metres to 3561 square metres.
