Kiwibank raises floating mortgate rate

Kiwibank today raised its variable and revolving home loan interest rates from 7.75 per cent to 8.00 per cent.

The change is effective immediately for new customers and will take effect from October 4 for existing customers.

The increase follows the recent rise in the Official Cash Rate set by the Reserve Bank and general increases in the wholesale market, Kiwibank said.

Other main banks have raised their rates to around 8.5 or 8.6 per cent.
