Mega plan for city DIY store

Dunedin do-it-yourself shoppers should by this time next year be checking out the 45,000 stock lines to be carried by the $10 million Mitre 10 megastore being built in the city.

The store will cover nearly 2ha, the equivalent of nearly three rugby fields. It will carry a larger range of existing stock and some new lines, such as lighting, flooring and kitchens.

It will be nearly double the existing Mitre 10 store on Andersons Bay Rd and involves the relocation of several existing businesses to make way for the development.
