Millionaire admits cocaine charge

Millionaire David Henderson has been revealed as the first casualty in an alleged drug syndicate with celebrity connections, after the high-profile Auckland property developer admitted trying to buy cocaine.

Henderson, whose personal wealth is estimated at $30 million, was arrested this week and pleaded guilty to attempting to procure the class A drug.

He was the eighth man to be arrested in Operation Aqua – the inquiry into the alleged drug syndicate, which has netted two former sports stars. Despite immense speculation over their identities, both men were granted continued name suppression yesterday.
