Unit Titles Act under review

The government is reviewing the Unit Titles Act 1972 to better reflect modern housing styles, including the increasing popularity of apartment life.

When the Act came into force, most residential unit titles were for ownership flats. Townhouses and mixed-unit complexes combining commercial and residential tenants were unheard of, and apartments were something most Kiwis had only seen on television or at the movies.
