The first of the two books, Law for Real Estate Professionals in New Zealand reproduces the Real Estate Agents Act 1976, the Real Estate Agents Regulations 1977, the Real Estate Agents Audit Regulations 1977, the rules
of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (Inc), the Fair Trading Act 1986 and the Residential Tenancies Act 1986.

The second, entitled The REINZ Real Estate Legislation Guide is a plain language guide to legal, compliance and ethical issues.

Both are produced by collaboration between REINZ and legal publishers Brookers.

Murray Cleland, president of REINZ, said “Both for public protection and ethical reasons, these books are a big step towards ensuring that all our people are up with the play legally and will help us in our drive to continue to lift standards”.
