Sovereign Park residential subdivision includes 63 sections in Stage 1 to be established over the coming years. The project on Blunt Road has been brought to fruition by GJ Gardner Homes as ‘land and home’ packages with a starting price of just over $360,000 for a three-bedroom brick home and section.

Business Owner of Harcourts Huntly, Stan Hickford said Te Kauwhata, like the surrounding region, had experienced a lot of residential and lifestyle development in recent years.

He said that while the small village of Te Kauwhata had a population of just over 1,000, it was within 12kms of Huntly and also sited between Auckland and Hamilton. The mid-2007 opening of the Spring Hill Corrections Facility locally, which will include 400 staff members and families, is a buying group Harcourts Huntly is already receiving enquiry from.
