Royal Commission report due on Monday

The final report from Australia's Royal Commission into the financial services sector is due to be published on Monday afternoon.

Thursday, January 31st 2019, 12:03PM

Sources expected the report from commissioner Kenneth Hayne (pictured) could be published this week, yet reports in Australia suggest the findings will be revealed after the close of the ASX on Monday afternoon.

The findings will be released 4.10pm Canberra time.

An interim report into banking, superannuation and financial services highlighted endemic misconduct within Australia's banking sector, spanning mortgage lending, commissions, and bonus targets.

The report is likely to recommend a ban on mortgage adviser trail commission, yet any legal changes will be required to go through the Australian parliament.
