The new scheme, AIA Apollo, replaces Ascend and is open to all advisers who write business for AIA.

AIA chief partnership officer Sam Tremethick says the scheme is based around four pillars:

  1. Boost my Business – tools and education to take your business to the next level for you and your customers.
  2. Value my Business – Connecting you with experts and industry specialists who can share their knowledge and experience to help you and your customers.
  3. Develop and Guide Me – Stay up to speed with access to the latest training courses and accreditation programmes.
  4. Keep Me Informed – Providing you with tools and support to help you keep up to date with the latest regulation and compliance information.

He says the old programme was based around productivity and rewarded advisers on production. The approach around Apollo is to expand it to all advisers to help their businesses grow.

"Quite simply we want adviser businesses to grow," he says.

One of the outcomes is that if adviser businesses do grow they will be better positioined to bring on board new advisers.

He says it is no longer possible to run schemes that are based on production. Likewise the days off offshore trips have gone: "They are a thing of the past."

Tremethick says Apollo is a "shared value" programme where all parties benefit.

While the scheme is open to all advisers, AIA will in 2021, be running a "Prime" version of Apollo which the top 100 firms will be invited to take part in each year.

He says AIA Apollo Prime provides access to additional specialist support including:

  • New and existing business support – support to assist with new and existing business queries.
  • Consultations with practice development team – help with business practice management.
  • Priority access to AIA Vitality coach – AIA’s Vitality coach can help advisers with integrating AIA Vitality into their business.
  • Personal health check with HealthScreen nurse – access to an annual personal health check.

Through AIA Apollo advisers will have access to a range of special deals from leading suppliers including: Open Polytechnic, PB Tech, Noel Leeming, Dough HR, Kiwi Fuelcards and marketing tools provided by ShareThis.Video and Advisor Promoter.

Sounds good. But end of the day is still bringing back to be more productive and increase activities to generate sales.
