Best Doctors provides access to leading specialists and mental health clinicians via telehealth.

It can support users with diagnosis, treatment and information when facing medical uncertainty, all from the comfort of their own home.

Asteron Life executive manager life distribution Graham Hill says Best Doctors has received glowing feedback from customers and advisers who have used it.

“Life insurance is about providing support to our customers when they need it, and Best Doctors enables our customers to make medical decisions with confidence when they are going through a tough time,” he says.

“Covid-19 has put the spotlight on the importance and value of virtual medical care, and we’re delighted to be able to extend this benefit to life insurance advisers absolutely free.”

To qualify for the service, advisers only need in-force business with Asteron Life.

Once qualified, advisers can get in touch with Best Doctors directly at any time through their website.

Best Doctors country manager Mike Morris says there's no limit to the number of times eligible customers or advisers can contact Best Doctors.

“The last 18 months has seen a great deal of uncertainty for New Zealanders and periodic pressure on medical services they are able to access,” he says.

"Best Doctors provides easy and quick access to a network of leading local and international experts who can provide clarity and certainty in regard to a medical diagnosis and the best treatment pathway."

He says the pandemic has also played a part in the rise of the Mental Health Navigator service.

Asteron Life will be offering two free webinars with Morris, to provide advisers with the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about the service.
