B Corp is a growing, nonprofit, international network which measures the success of applicants based on the positive impact they create. This is a globally-recognised nod to meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, as well as accountability and transparency.

“We have always believed that we are building something bigger than ourselves, Finzo chief executive Nick Stewart says. "We strive for higher standards. By addressing positive change for our community, the local environment and our team and their families we believe we can create a better place to work and live.

"The B Corp certification process is challenging, it takes some mahi, and makes you think, adapt and change for the better," he says.

As with its CEFEX certification, Finzo welcomed the scrutiny of an independent, third-party assessor like B Lab to prove they are making continual improvements to their business practices.

“We look forward to learning from the B Corp community and contributing to the growing pool of B Corp certified businesses in Aotearoa and abroad,” Stewart says.

Finzo is B Corp certified under its holding company, Te Rehe Group. The company scored 105.4 on its B Impact Assessment, compared to the median New Zealand B Corp score hovering around 81.9, with 80 being the minimum points needed to pass.

“Becoming a B Corp has provided us an opportunity to prove our commitment to governance, community, environment, and people,” Stewart says.
