Meanwhile on the rates front BNZ is the latest bank to hike short-term rates while cutting rates of three years or more.

Its one-year special rate has increased 20 basis points toto 6.74% and the two-year rate is up four basis points to6.49%.

But the three-year special rate dropped 60 points to5.99% and the four and five-year specials are down 40 basis points each. See the changes here.
