MyFiduciary links up with iwi

MyFiduciary Ltd IWIinvestor have joined forces to create an investment consulting company focussed on iwi and Māori investors, charitable trusts, financial advice practices, and other large-scale investors.

The combined company will be Aotearoa’s leading independent investment consultant, providing investment support to over 75 clients, including 44 iwi/Māori investors. It combines MyFiduciary’s long track record of independent support and advice to wholesale investors and firms, with IWIinvestor’s skills and experience at managing client portfolios.

As part of the transaction, Tupu Angitu, the commercial arm of the Lake Taupō Forest Trust, has become a 25% shareholder of MyFiduciary. The remaining three-quarters of MyFiduciary remains owned by its staff.

“Together, we aim to become the primary investment consultant in Aotearoa for iwi, Māori, financial advisers, and other investors,” said Aaron Drew, co-owner of MyFiduciary.

Toni Kerr (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga) who is currently a director of IWIinvestor will join the MyFiduciary board as a director.
