Generate has lowered its KiwiSaver and Managed Fund fees for the 180,000 investors it has on its books.
Fund fees have dropped for all KiwiSaver funds except the CashPlus fund, which already has the lowest fees at 0.40%, and the Australasian fund. That includes Conservative, Moderate, Balanced, Growth, Focused Growth, Thematic and Global.
The cuts range from one to two basis points.
Generate has removed its monthly administration fee for all members under 18. Generate says it recognises the importance of encouraging young Kiwis into long-term savings, and wants to make it even more rewarding for them to watch their KiwiSaver balances grow.
Managed Fund fees have dropped between two and three basis points for all funds: Thematic, Australasian, Global, Focused Growth, Balanced, Conservative, Fixed Interest and CashPlus.
"A fee reduction is always good news, but when it comes to growing your KiwiSaver balance, fees are only one part of the story," Generate says.
"Fund performance is what really grows your money."
It also shows that KiwiSaver members with advisers tend to have a bigger balance than non-advised members.
Members with an independent financial adviser have an average balance of $48,361.08; those with a Generate adviser have an annual balance of $45,385.48 and non-advised members have a balance of $37,753.92.
