He is stepping up into the role to lead trail and KAN – focusing on innovation, industry trends like AI, and making sure advisers have the tools, insights, and support they need to grow their businesses.

Slow jointed KAN at is inception in 2020 and just before new regulation and licensing changes introduced extra cost and risk into the equation.

Many advisers began to worry about whether they were adequately equipped to deal with the changes and how they could ensure that they were operating in a compliant manner.

When he began with KAN it was a start-up with big plans in a shoebox office. “It was a humble set up to say the least. My desk was a picnic table and team meetings happened in the stairwell.”

Slow has played a key role in helping prospective users understand whether the platform is the right fit for their business, taking the time to understand each adviser’s operation and clearly demonstrating the value KAN can deliver.

His commitment to the industry has been recognised with back=to=back BDM of the Year awards in 2024 and 2025.

He says the success of KAN comes down to the team and the product it has built. “I am just the one out there talking about it. The real work happens behind the scenes. He says his tip for working the advisers is just showing up every day with a genuine desire to help them succeed.

Sarah Johnston remains KAN’s general manager, keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly, while Benjamin Krebs and Chuck Slogrove are still hands-on as directors, with Slogrove continuing to drive product improvements to make trail the smartest, most effective tool in an adviser’s business toolkit.
