 their bi-ennual Conference/PD Day.  It will be held at the Auckland Airpor
 t Novotel on Thursday 18 May from 9.30am to 5pm. The cost is $299\, plus G
 ST (or $349\, plus GST for non-FSCL advisers). Advisers can earn 4 CPD cre
 dits for attending the conference.\nFollowing on from the success of their
  inaugural conference in 2015\, FSCL is delighted to announce this year&rs
 quo\;s one day conference and professional development day on Thursday 18 
 May from 9.30 am to 5pm\, at the Novotel Auckland Airport hotel. The confe
 rence theme is &ldquo\;Seeing the wood for the trees&rdquo\;\, with an emp
 hasis on clear communication with clients and avoidance of complaints. The
  conference is followed by a cocktail function to give you the opportunity
  to network with other advisers and FSCL staff.\nSpeakers include:\n\nLiam
  Mason from the FMA giving an update on the financial adviser regime post 
 the FAA review\nHamish Kerr from Scope Investigations on &ldquo\;Justifyin
 g fraud&rdquo\;\nChristine Smith from Clearspace on how to communicate cle
 arly and effectively with your clients\nA consumer panel telling you what 
 consumers really want from their financial adviser.\n\nIn addition\, the F
 SCL team will be running several concurrent workshops on topical and pract
 ical issues to assist you in better understanding and avoiding complaints.
  One workshop will examine FSCL&rsquo\;s approach to dealing with complain
 ts arising from the sale of replacement insurance\, including looking at r
 eal case studies\, and best practice guidelines. Another workshop asks you
  to help us investigate a complaint\, also including real case studies.\nC
