DESCRIPTION:This course covers the Residential Property Lending Strand of t
 he Level 5 New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services. It provides an i
 n-depth understanding of residential property lending concepts\, legislati
 on and regulations that are of particular relevance to the provision of re
 sidential property lending services. It also considers the residential pro
 perty market\, and the relationship between residential property lending a
 nd individuals&rsquo\; needs\, to ensure appropriate solutions to borrowin
 g needs. Key lending concepts and frameworks are applied to develop soluti
 ons for a range of lending situations. The third day of this course is a p
 ractical workshop. This workshop will give attendees the chance to intervi
 ew clients in a simulated environment where they will gather information\;
  create a diary note\; fill in an application\; find and present the corre
 ct documentation including using a lending calculator\, and draft a mortga
 ge-specific statement of advice (SOA). The course will also feature real l
 ife mortgage applications (appropriately sanitised) and give candidates th
 e chance to identify what is deficient and why the lender may decline it. 
 Attendees will then list what needs to be included for the application to 
 have a good chance of succeeding. (Note this additional training is NOT av
 ailable via online learning.) The Residential Property Lending Strand shou
 ld be considered the minimum education for anyone wanting to become a mort
 gage adviser\, plus mortgage advisers wanting to upskill\, and is recognis
 ed as the benchmark by major lending institutions in New Zealand. This Str
