DESCRIPTION:This course covers the Residential Property Lending Strand of t
 he Level 5 New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services.\nIt provides an 
 in-depth understanding of residential property lending concepts\, legislat
 ion and regulations that are of particular relevance to the provision of r
 esidential property lending services.\nIt also considers the residential p
 roperty market\, and the relationship between residential property lending
  and individuals&rsquo\; needs\, to ensure appropriate solutions to borrow
 ing needs. Key lending concepts and frameworks are applied to develop solu
 tions for a range of lending situations.\nThe third day of this course is 
 a practical workshop.\nThis workshop will give attendees the chance to int
 erview clients in a simulated environment where they will: gather informat
 ion create a diary note fill in an application find and present the correc
 t documentation including using a lending calculator draft a mortgage-spec
 ific statement of advice (SOA).\nThe course will also feature real life mo
 rtgage applications (appropriately sanitised) and give candidates the chan
 ce to identify what is deficient and why the lender may decline it.\nAtten
 dees will then list what needs to be included for the application to have 
 a good chance of succeeding. (Note this additional training is NOT availab
 le via online learning.)\nThe Residential Property Lending Strand should b
 e considered the minimum education for anyone wanting to become a mortgage
  adviser\, plus mortgage advisers wanting to upskill\, and is recognised a
 s the benchmark by major lending institutions in New Zealand.\nThis Strand
  is also suitable for those wishing to work as financial advisers\, privat
