DESCRIPTION:This 3 day course covers the Residential Property Lending Stran
 d of the Level 5 New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services.\nIt provid
 es an in-depth understanding of residential property lending concepts\, le
 gislation and regulations that are of particular relevance to the provisio
 n of residential property lending services. It also considers the resident
 ial property market\, and the relationship between residential property le
 nding and individuals&rsquo\; needs\, to ensure appropriate solutions to b
 orrowing needs. Key lending concepts and frameworks are applied to develop
  solutions for a range of lending situations.\nThe third day of this cours
 e is a practical workshop. This workshop will give attendees the chance to
  interview clients in a simulated environment where they will gather infor
 mation\; create a diary note\; fill in an application\; find and present t
 he correct documentation including using a lending calculator\, and draft 
 a mortgage-specific statement of advice (SOA). The course will also featur
 e real life mortgage applications (appropriately sanitised) and give candi
 dates the chance to identify what is deficient and why the lender may decl
 ine it. Attendees will then list what needs to be included for the applica
 tion to have a good chance of succeeding. (Note this additional training i

 rand should be considered the minimum education for anyone wanting to beco
 me a mortgage adviser\, plus mortgage advisers wanting to upskill\, and is
  recognised as the benchmark by major lending institutions in New Zealand.
