First NZ Capital and Securities become one

Thursday, December 12th 2002, 6:19AM
First NZ Capital and First NZ Securities have combined their respective businesses and now trade under the name of First NZ Capital.
The combined firm will be led by Bill Trotter as executive chairman and Scott St John as chief executive officer.
Ross McEwan (currently CEO of First NZ Securities) will become head of securities, while Rob Hamilton will continue as head of investment banking.
Trotter said that combining First NZ Capital and First NZ Securities would achieve the best strategic model for the two businesses in the New Zealand market. "This move recognises the importance of having a strong retail distribution network in New Zealand capital markets," he said.
