Fidelity snaps up Whyte for directorship

Financial industry stalwart David Whyte has been appointed to the board of Fidelity Life Assurance.

- Whyte is well-known in the financial advisory industry for his central role in the growth of Sovereign and AIA (now AIG).

He worked with Sovereign from 1990 to 1994, as business development manager and later general manager sales. It was followed by 12 years at AIA, eight as general manager of AIA and in 2002, Whyte became managing director of AIG Australia.

Whyte has also served on multiple industry boards, such as the ISO and ISI in New Zealand. He is currently on the board of the Pacific Insurance Conference.
