Shakeup at Westpac broker unit

Good Returns understands that David Gopperth will no longer be heading up the broker unit which is based in Christchurch. Gopperth is well-known in broker circles and has run the unit for around 11 years.
While Westpac were unable to confirm the changes when we spoke to them last night, it is understood the unit will move to Auckland. It is not clear what will happen with other staff in the Christchurch office.
Brokers say the bank has had someone from Westpac Australia in New Zealand talking to brokers about the market, how it operates and what it needs to do in this space.
