UDC has been a wholly owned subsidiary of ANZ Banking Group (New Zealand) Limited since 1980 and we currently hold investors’ funds totalling in excess of $2 billion. The overall strength of UDC Finance is reflected in our Standard & Poor’s AA- long-term credit rating. UDC is not only New Zealand’s largest finance company, but also the first in New Zealand to obtain an independent Standard & Poor’s rating.

The AA- rating is a result of UDC’s sound risk-management policies and a quality loan portfolio diversified over a wide range of New Zealand industries. For over 60 years UDC has been a driving force providing plant, vehicle and equipment finance to New Zealand businesses. Through an extensive range of financing options, UDC contributes to the growth and success of thousands of New Zealand’s business endeavours. The past 60 years, during which UDC has never recorded a loss, have seen UDC go from strength to strength, delivering an enviable track record of solid performance and growth in both asset finance and secured debenture investments.

Our Investor Services team, with their extensive experience and UDC’s ‘can do’ attitude will ensure that you receive professional, friendly service. When you call us during business hours, you won’t be greeted by an answer-phone instructing you to press an endless sequence of buttons! Our staff are right there with all the information you need on UDC’s secured investment products.

UDC Secured Term Investment is a straightforward, fully secured investment offering a choice of terms and interest frequencies to suit your needs. With a minimum deposit of $5,000 you have the option of having interest payments direct credited to your bank account monthly, quarterly, or annually. Alternatively, those investors who do not require an income from their investment can choose to compound their interest either quarterly or annually. Terms range from three months to five years with the interest rate fixed for the term of the investment.

UDC Capital Drawdown Option is a unique feature of the Secured Term Investment that allows you to receive a regular payment amount that may include a portion of your principal. It is ideally suited to investors who need to make regular payments, perhaps to meet monthly or quarterly commitments such as school fees or rest home costs. For those who are self-employed or rely on commission-based income, the Capital Drawdown Option provides a regular cash flow against irregular earnings. It is also ideal for those retirees whose interest-only income may no longer be sufficient to cover their living expenses.

UDC Telephone Call Account is simplicity itself and gives you ready access to your funds while offering competitive, on-call interest rates that are fixed for the entire calendar month – even if market rates fall. UDC’s Call Account allows you to easily manage your deposits and withdrawals by telephone, utilising our direct credit and direct debit facilities or your bank’s telephone or internet banking facilities. The Call Account provides an ideal vehicle for managing the cash portion of your investment portfolio.

UDC’s Secured Term Investment, Capital Drawdown Option and Telephone Call Account are fully secured by First Ranking Debenture Stock. We charge no entry, exit or management fees, but an interest adjustment is made when a fixed term investment is withdrawn, either in part or in full, prior to maturity.

UDC is proud to be known as ‘New Zealand’s Finance Company’ with a reputation for sound financing and investment options and a commitment to providing our clients with first class customer service.
