Fidelity appoints new director

Fidelity Life has appointed Carole Durbin as a director.

Durbin is a board member and partner of major commercial law firm Simpson Grierson and brings impressive legal skills and experience. She has significant corporate governance experience as a director.

As well as her Simpson Grierson board experience, Durbin is deputy chair of Mighty River Power, chairman of the Earthquake Commission's Reinsurance Company and is on the board of the Earthquake Commission.

She has also recently been appointed chairman of the Legal Services Agency.

As the head of Simpson Grierson's resource & infrastructure team, Durbin advises on project documentation, contracting, tendering and contracting out.

Her significant insurance and reinsurance experience spans more than 20 years and her specialist legal areas include expertise in arbitration, mediation and disputes resolution.

Fidelity Life is the country's largest wholly New Zealand-owned and managed life insurance company. Based in Auckland, the company specialises in innovative insurance solutions provided through external advisers.
