Belinda Moffat has been appointed to the role of head of enforcement.
She is currently the head of dispute resolution at Westpac New Zealand overseeing a team responsible for all non-lending loss litigation. She was previously a litigation senior associate at Buddle Findlay in New Zealand and gained litigation experience with roles at law firms Ashurst and Addleshaw Goddard in London.
In her role at the FMA Moffat will develop and lead the regulators investigation, forensic accounting and litigation capability.
The FMA has also announced the appointment of Adam Hunt as head of strategic intelligence.
Hunt is currently director of tax solutions and strategy at Oracle Corporation and was previously assurance manager, strategic compliance risk at Inland Revenue.
Hunt's new role will be to build and lead FMA's intelligence and knowledge management activities. It will involve building capability, systems and relationships to ensure FMA has accurate and up-to-the-minute knowledge of the market, both from the global/macro and micro perspectives.
Moffat commences her new role in early 2012 while Hunt's start date in January 16. Both roles will be at FMA's Auckland office.
Hughes said Hunt and Moffat's appointments completed a highly skilled leadership team with a considerable depth of experience and expertise.
