AMP appoints new head of underwriting and claims strategy

AMP picks up manager from Sovereign for underwriting role.

Wednesday, December 7th 2011, 9:32AM

Stephen Potter will play a key leadership role at AMP as it continues to enhance its wealth protection life insurance offering to make the lives better for customers and advisers.

His appointment reinforces the importance that AMP places on the life insurance market in New Zealand, and in particular underwriting.

Potter has had a long career at Sovereign, including the role of chief underwriter.

In this role he was responsible for the development, review and maintenance of underwriting guidelines. He has also taken a leadership role in the underwriting aspects of product development and delivered many workshops for advisers on the underwriting process.

Potter will join AMP on 12 December.
