Sam Dickie will replace Murray Brown who retired in October 2017 (sic), Fisher Funds says in a statement to the NZX.

Dickie will assume responsibility for managing the Kingfish (KFL) portfolio, and will be supported by senior analyst Zoie Regan who returns from maternity leave in early 2017.

Dickie is a Kiwi currently based in Hong Kong, and will return to New Zealand with his wife and two young children in February. He has worked as an investment analyst and portfolio manager since 1998 in New Zealand, London and Hong Kong and is a CFA charterholder. Coincidentally, his first role was with Credit Suisse/First NZ Capital where he trained as an analyst under Murray Brown.

Over the years he has covered a variety of sectors including property, telecommunications, tourism, and industrials and had a particular focus on China and India. He has previously worked with Deutsche Bank and Bennelong Asset Management in London and Moore Capital Management in Hong Kong.

Fisher Funds Managing Director Carmel Fisher says “We are looking forward to Sam’s return to New Zealand, and are enjoying introducing our portfolio holdings to him so that he can hit the ground running. Sam is a high calibre investment professional and we are confident he will maintain the excellent record of performance we have achieved in our New Zealand portfolios”.
