Fidelity Life has appointed Craig Winterburn to the newly-created role of GM retail sales and key partnerships.

He has been in the industry more than 20 years.

He has spent the last few years working at Asteron Life as its distribution development manager for the IFA channel and, before that, was national manager adviser distribution at AMP.

Fidelity Life chief executive Nadine Tereora said: "Craig will be responsible for working alongside our BDMs to own and build stronger partnerships with dealer and adviser groups. He will also pick up responsibility for the sales support services function, adviser education and other general support requirements for retail distribution. We are looking forward to Craig coming on board in early April.

"In the meantime, I will carry on working closely with the Fidelity Life Retail Sales team as we continue the process to recruit our chief distribution officer. As previously communicated, once appointed the new CDO will assume responsibility for driving the company’s unified distribution strategy, including retail, group and strategic alliances. I will be sure to update you again as soon as we can announce that key appointment."
