Twenty of 26 sections behind the existing Paton's Rock settlement sold within a week of going on the market on December 26.

The subdivision is being developed by a syndicate called Kahikatea Rise Ltd. The company is proposing a second stage development of a further 26 sections.

First National Real Estate agent Helen Hodgkinson said it was the first subdivision to have been proposed in Paton's Rock for many years and a lot of people had been "waiting in the wings".
