Milford Asset Management has appointed Dan Simmonds to its Sydney based investment team as Portfolio Manager – Global Income.

Simmonds will be based in Sydney and focus on global income securities. He will work closely with David Lewis, Portfolio Manager of the $2.8 billion Milford Diversified Income Fund.

Simmonds has 13 years funds management experience, including seven years with Rare Infrastructure as Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Analyst and prior to that at CP2 (Capital Partners) as an Investment Analyst.

Milford Chief Investment Officer Wayne Gentle says, “we’re excited to welcome someone of Dan’s calibre to the Milford investment team. Milford has a focus on delivering strong long-term investment returns for clients. Dan’s expertise in global income securities is essential in a low growth, low interest rate environment where clients are demanding stable low risk income.”

Simmonds says: “Milford has grown as a result of world class investment outcomes and a very good understanding of the end client. I’m looking forward to working with a team that is focused on reacting quickly to changing market conditions and taking advantage of new opportunities for the benefit of clients.”
